Keys to Literacy

Everyone Reading Illinois is sponsoring KEYS TO LITERACY professional development through online training courses. Joan Sedita is the founder of Keys to Literacy and author of their professional development routines. For over 40 years, Joan has been on a mission to help teachers, schools, and districts improve student literacy skills, especially students who struggle with reading and writing. Together with the support of the Keys to Literacy staff, she has built an organization that is recognized as a leader in literacy professional development.

Each course is organized into modules that include interactive activities, readings, video clips from live training, and activities that allow users to master course content. Online courses are asynchronous, which means users can complete the course at their convenience; they may log in at any time to work through the modules at their own pace. Everyone Reading Illinois will be offering ISBE Professional Development credit for these courses. To view a description of the course modules, please click on the links below.
